Putin sees aviation security issue in Egypt solved soon
MOSCOW, Sep 5 (PRIME) -- Russia expects that the issue of aviation security in Egypt will be solved in the near future, President Vladimir Putin told reporters on Tuesday.
“As far as air travel is concerned, we also want to fully restore air travel with Egypt. We have agreed that work of our relevant special services and transport bodies carrying out safety of flights should be continued. We should be absolutely sure that safety of our citizens will be ensured,” Putin said.
“We see that our Egyptian friends do everything to ensure this safety,” he said.
“I expect and hope a lot that we will be able to solve this task in the near future,” he added.
Moscow suspended flights to Egypt in November 2015 after a major crash of a Russian plane over the Sinai Peninsula. Russia believes that the plane was likely brought down by a bomb.
